Brazil INMETRO issued two new regulations on LED lights and street lights

According to the amendment of GRPC regulation, the Brazilian National Bureau of standards, INMETRO approved the new version of Portaria 69:2022 regulation on LED bulbs / tubes on February 16, 2022, which was published in its official log on February 25 and enforced on March 3, 2022.

The regulation replaces Portaria 389:2014, Portaria 143:2015 and their amendments, which have been implemented for many years.

The main differences between the old and new regulations are as follows:

The initial measured power shall not exceed 10% deviation from rated power

The initial measured power shall not exceed 10% higher than rated power

The measured initial peak light intensity shall not exceed 25% deviation from rated value

The measured initial peak light intensity shall not be less than 75% of rated value

On February 17, 2022, the Brazilian National Bureau of standards INMETRO approved the new version of Portaria 62:2022 regulations on street lamps, which was published in its official log on February 24 and enforced on March 3, 2022.

The regulation replaces Portaria 20:2017 and its amendments, which have been implemented for many years, and redefines the mandatory requirements for the performance, electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility of street lamps.
